Pics from home

Here are some pics from home. The first is of Makelle. My wonderful younger sister made this dress for Makelle. It turned out perfectly. Thank you Lisa!

Tree Monkeys at Grandpa's

Things haven't changed since I was little. Apple trees are the best to climb!

My cute niece

This is my totally cute niece. She has this happy scrunchy face. I love her!

Grandpa Time

My son LOVES Grandpa. He followed him around as much as he could while we visited the home farm. He begged and begged to go with grandpa to dig a hole with the post digger on the tractor. Grandpa had to go find someplace to dig a hole. Porter also loved feeding the cows and chickens.

Last fall Grandpa accidentally ran over a turkey nest. He saved the babies and raised them with the chickens. There were three, two hens and a tom. The tom has been a mean turkey and would not let any get near him or the hens. He would ruffle his feathers and try and nip at anyone who came close. When we were home all of the adults were up at my Grandma's house visiting. All the kids were down by the chicken coop. Dad heard they were all down there and was really worried. He took off pretty quickly to keep them safe. Before he left I joked that Porter would be down there riding him. I guess I wasn't too far off. When Dad came back up to the house he was laughing. Somehow four kids younger than six years had cowed the big old tom turkey. He sat cowering in the corner and would not even venture near the fencing where the kids were. I guess dad won't have any trouble with him from now on. All he needed was my little man.

Abbie's Art

Abbie has been invited to do summer art classes. She is such a talented young lady. Here are a few of her pieces.
My sweet husband has been called in. . . again tonight to the VA. I miss him when he gets called in twice in one night. I have been reading a blog about a little boy named Charlie who suffered meningitis when he was only a year old. The consequences are grave. However, as I have read I was able to see such great love his parents have for him. My mind has been brought to my children and how truly grateful I am for them. They are the most precious things on this earth to me. I would not trade one bad day with them for any treasure in the world. My two sons and my two daughters have brought so much joy into my life. They teach me so much about myself and they teach me to be a better mom. Oh, how I love my children. I hope that they will always know this. I am so grateful for spontaneous hugs and "I love you, Mom."
