Women at the Well

I had the wonderful opportunity to sing at a production that women in our ward put on. It is about the women in Christ's life. I was not so sure about me singing, I don't sing. The other two fantastic women that I sung with are awesome and never criticized my lack of talent. I prayed before it started that even if we sounded bad that those who were listening would only hear the whisperings of the Spirit. And it happened! A lady who was not of our faith came up to me afterward and said that it was the best religious production she had ever seen. I am so grateful for the encouragement of others that stretched me and I am even more grateful that those who were in attendance felt the Holy Ghost.

Rookie Mistake

After M woke from her nap she wanted a snack. I gave her two crackers, she convinced me to give her four. As she seemed perky and fine I thought she was. . . (doo, doo, doo)

After snitching more crackers and some cookie batter (I had promised to make cookies with Abbie today and she was begging, what a succor I am) and some water she was playing when all of the sudden she ran to the entrance of the kitchen where Chase and I were standing and promptly power barfed all over us. Gross. I had to figure out how to get three people with throw up out of nasty clothes and clean up the floor. That was a challenge and this time the smell was not so great. I had to double mop the kitchen floor. Yuck!

Note to self and all others: just because they look better doesn't mean they are. And DON'T feed them. (atleast for a long time)

Arch Nemesis

So I don't mind illnesses. Give us all sinus infections, ear aches, fevers, colds, coughs. . . fine. I'll take it, willingly. But I absolutely dread vomiting. I've always had an aversion to it. I cannot even watch someone else do it or even on a movie. At almost any cost I hand this particular dreadful thing off to my sweet husband. It doesn't seem to bother him much.

For example, when I was pregnant with Abbie we had come home from church and I was starving. I reheated some lasagna and proceeded to inhale it. Then just sat for a minute and thought that I wouldn't make it to the bathroom. Suddenly I flew across the room and into the bathroom. I made it to the sink and then to the toilet. My husband came in and held back my hair and then proceeded to rinse out the sink for me while I was still worshiping the throne all the while eating a handful of chips. Now I ask, who does that? I gag at the thought.

Fast forward, Matt is out of town at a conference and of all things Chase starts throwing up one night, okay fine. It isn't too bad, happened twice and that was all. Besides it's still kind of baby puke so I could deal. Then this morning just before the sun decided to shine, Makelle comes out of her room and says that she is sick and her tummy hurts. I assume she is constipated or hungry. Nope. . . she puked in her bed. Swell.

Then I shower her off and get her dressed, put her on a towel in my room tell her not to move and put a movie on while I showered. What did she do? Climbed into my bed and puked on my pillows. . . twice. Fabulous.

After 7 hours of puking every twenty minutes, two bedding sets, several outfits I think she is done with it, or so I hope. The perks of it all. I finally could predict when she was going to throw up so I was ready, garbage, sink, or bucket to catch the foul stuff.

So, the question is, who is next?

New Orleans

Matt is at a conference this week in New Orleans. He went on a tour and held an alligator. The kids thought it was awesome!

Porter's Birthday

Porter wanted a dinosaur cake. He and Grandpa Blake decided to share birthdays. The cake didn't turn out at all. . . trust me. However, Porter loved it and it IS just a cake.

I am so grateful for my sweet Porter. He is such a ray of sunshine. He loves to work hard and do new projects. He is my little man.

We had friends over on his actual birthday. He chose dinosaur cookies.

Snow Again!

Isn't our house just so beautiful? I think it is so charming. I will be so sad to let it go in a year.

Snow man and wife. They lasted only a few hours and then the wind blew them over.
I love cardinals in the winter. It is a true reminder that beauty is everywhere and spring is not that far away.

I Spy Jars

During all the snow we had a lot of time not in school and we decided to make I spy jars. We had a ton of fun.
