Porter's First Dive

So Porter can swim like a fish and was scared to walk off the diving board. It wasn't the diving but walking on the board so far off of the water. The life guards (who love him) and I cheated and waited until those who would be mad left and then one of them picked porter up walked him to the edge and then dropped him off. This is the first time he did it by himself. We are so proud of him.

Time . . . like a river

This summer just keeps on going like a river. Soon school will be starting for two kids. Did I mention I will have TWO kids in school. I am getting old. I have a few posts of fun things we have done this summer but they are on my other computer which is being occupied at the moment, so I will defer until tomorrow.

My sister had her baby last week. He is a doll. Aren't they such a cute family!?! My little blond niece looks just like my sister when she was little.

Mud Drunk

I came across these pictures from about a month ago. The kiddos were outside playing and I was out with them. I turned my back for ONE minute and my son decided he liked the mud. He ate some, played with some, and then laid on the grass and watched the sky.

A Tree

While we were still with Grandma and Grandpa we visited Matt's old ward where he lived when he was a baby. While we were waiting after church I snapped a few pictures of Porter & Abbie by a tree. Porter was a big poser and cracked me up. On the way home Abbie told me that the tree is the one Grandpa had planted a long time ago. I'll have to check my facts but that is kind of a random neat thing if it is true.

Grandma

We went to DC for a family funeral and Matt's parents met us there for it. Abbie and Porter insisted that Grandma sit with them. Poor Grandma had to cram between to large car seats. She was a great sport and the kids cannot wait to see her again.

How can you not LOVE this face?

(And yes, that is dirt he was eating. He has progressed to trying ants that have drowned at the pool.)

Aren't his eyes gorgeous?
